Inaugurate an exhibition of monumental works in the Mexican city of Monterrey
Entertainment News Reporter Thursday, May 6, 10:42 PM Monterrey (Mexico), May 6 (EFE) .- The Mexican city of Monterrey (north) now became a major exhibition of eleven paintings on huge portraits created monumental urban spaces, sources officers. The exhibition, entitled "Loved Ones", was produced by four artists-two Americans, one Spanish and one French-that developed in the past two weeks, large-scale works on walls, bridges, parking lots and schools in Monterrey, as part of a festival that promotes street art, organizers said. The "Loved Ones" is driven by the Alliance Francaise, Marco Museum and Art fest festival, organized by the municipality of San Pedro, located in the metropolitan area Monterey, told Efe that population spokeswoman, Blanca Montemayor. He explained that street art project began with a call for photographers to submit images of ordinary people, including visual artists selected and reflected to some spaces of the city. The selected photographs became paintings on walls, bridges and walls of buildings representing the center of Monterrey and San Pedro. "The project seeks to bring cultural dynamics such as those carried out in different cities of the world" said Montemayor. Among the artists participating in the project is a Frenchman who called himself as "Atma" and has developed similar projects in walls of Rabat, Barcelona (Spain) and London. Another of the artists, an American of Mexican origin and uses the nickname "Mac", has designed murals in various parts of the world, exhibited works in numerous museums and their works have become covers of various publications. For its part, the Cuban American Jorge Rodriguez -Gerada has developed his artistic work in the U.S. and Spanish, known as "Sex, the child of the paintings" (Valencia 1977), specializes in graffiti.
